Beautiful, healthy smiles can make a big impact on your life. A nice smile with straight teeth will improve how others perceive your personality and your attractiveness. People with bright, straight healthy teeth demonstrate high self-esteem and radiate confidence. Millions of adults, teens, and children have improved their lives and their health by getting their teeth and their bites corrected.
Here are TOP reasons YOU SHOULD get your smile straightened at Lumina Aesthetics Clinic
- Appearance! Straight, white teeth are more attractive than crooked, yellowed, and broken down teeth. Along with the straight teeth comes an improved bite. Various bite problems from overbite to underbite can cause excessive wear of your teeth, possible jaw joint problems, and even problems breathing. Crowded teeth, crooked teeth, overjet, and overbite can all lead to swollen, red, bleeding gums because it is difficult to brush and floss around them. This leads to the next reason to get your teeth straightened.
- Straight teeth are healthier teeth. Straight teeth get fewer cavities, are less likely to have problems with discoloration, uneven wear, and fractures. The gums are healthier too and therefore you are less likely to develop periodontal (gum) disease. Straight teeth and healthy gums mean you can chew anything you want. Your teeth are less likely to be sensitive to heat or cold and you lower your risk of painful and expensive dental problems.
- Another reason to straighten your teeth is simply that you will feel better about yourself. Truth be told, appearance does matter. Studies have proven over and over again the advantages of an attractive appearance and smile as it relates to job opportunities. The amount of money you make and even the people you attract into your life. Like it or not, your smile is a reflection of you.
Introducing an aesthetically pleasing solution for unaligned teeth; we’re proud to be able to offer Lumina’s patients living with mild to moderate dental irregularity the option of clear aligners.
Clear aligner treatment is becoming increasingly popular worldwide. The clear and removable alternative to traditional braces has developed into a well-known orthodontic treatment for adults.
Clear aligners are custom-made mouthpieces that slip over your teeth. Instead of using brackets and wires like traditional braces, clear aligners are made from clear plastic which makes them virtually invisible when placed over your teeth.
Clear Aligners are a relatively new method of treatment, perfect for those who are looking to adjust the alignment of a small number of their teeth to create a straighter smile. The treatment is based upon the use of a series of clear retainers, that look much like mouthguards, to place a small amount of constant pressure on the patients' teeth to gently move them into place. The efficiency of this treatment relies heavily on the commitment of the patient; throughout the treatment, they must wear their plastic appliance at all times except when eating and brushing their teeth. If you keep forgetting to place your aligners back over your teeth after removing them, the treatment may not be suitable for you.
You will also have to commit to wearing your aligners for the allocated periods of time and change to the next set of aligners as discussed with your dentist. If you miss changing to the next set of aligners, it may result in a prolonged treatment time. This can make your overall treatment more expensive.
It is important to note that this method of treatment is not suitable for all cases. Our highly experienced team will take the time to listen to your requirements and assess your oral health before explaining the treatments that are likely to achieve your desired results.

During The Aligners Treatment!
Lumina’s Dentists recommend brushing your teeth at least twice a day, once in the morning and once before going to sleep. When you are wearing clear aligners, however, you should be brushing your teeth after every meal.
Why do you have to brush your teeth more often during aligner treatment? The simple reason is aligners are made from tightly-fitted plastic that can trap food leftovers between the aligner and your teeth. This can lead to an increased build-up of plaque and bad breath. If you don’t brush your teeth after every meal, you are exposed to an increased risk of cavities.
For this reason, you should brush your teeth before placing your aligners back in your mouth after having a snack, full meal or drink that is not water.
How About Your Caffeine Habit During The Treatment!
Clear aligner treatment might not be the right solution for you if you can’t resist sipping hot beverages such as coffee or tea throughout the day. As clear aligners are made from plastic, the heat of these beverages may damage your aligners which means you will have to remove them prior to consumption. As previously mentioned, you should minimize the time in which you are not wearing your aligners.
Don’t worry – you can still have your morning cup of coffee or tea. Just make sure to remove your aligner prior to drinking it, consume it quickly, and brush your teeth afterward, or at least drink some cold water before replacing it.
You Don’t Need To See Your Dentist Too Often!
If you don’t like to stick to regular dental appointments, clear aligner treatment might be the right solution for you. Throughout your treatment time, you will be monitored through the application, so Lumina’s Dentist can follow your progress through the application, you may find this application on ios and Android. You also don’t have to pick up your new sets of aligners. Your Aligners kits are ready when you start your Smile Journey with this treatment.
