What is facial contouring?

Am I a good candidate for facial contouring?

• Have a mild or moderate dislike for your face shape
• Are opposed to surgery

Self-preparation prior to the Hyaluronic Acid Filler injection – Lumina Aesthetics Clinic

Refrain from taking antiplatelet drugs, anti-clotting drugs, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, vitamins or supplementary that cause to bleed easily and hard to stop, such as aspirin, high-dose vitamin E, fish oil, or ginkgo leaf extract, for at least 3-7 days before the Hyaluronic Acid injection.

Self-care after Hyaluronic Acid

1.After the Hyaluronic Acid Filler injection, no heavily touching, pressing or rubbing on the injected area because it may cause Hyaluronic Acid to move to an unwanted spot.

2.After the Hyaluronic Acid Filler injection, you may feel sore or aching on the injected area; this can be relieved with cold compression or by taking painkillers or decongestants.

3.Avoid exposure to sunlight, outdoor activities or sports, and sweaty activities because they may cause irritation or more rashes to the Hyaluronic Acid injected area.

4.Avoid hot bathing, steaming or sauna after the Hyaluronic Acid Filler injection for at least 2 weeks as heat may have an effect on Hyaluronic Acid Filler.

5. Hyaluronic Acid Filler has the property to well absorb water; drinking a lot of water enables Hyaluronic Acid to absorb more water in the skin. As a result, Hyaluronic Acid that fills up wrinkles and deep lines or adjusts the face will remain longer and give a more natural look.

6.Avoid drinking alcohol after the Hyaluronic Acid Filler injection for at least 3 days.

7.You can apply skincare lotion and makeup as usual. After the Hyaluronic Acid Filler injection, Injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) is a type of temporary dermal filler. there may be injection traces in the form of tiny red spots on the injected area. They will disappear in 2-3 days. There may also be bruises, which will fade out within 1 week. So, at the first stage when these traces still exist, you can use foundation or concealer to cover them up.

8.In case of the need for facial nourishment with another treatment such as skin peeling, AHA treatment or exfoliation, it should be done at least 1-2 weeks after the Hyaluronic Acid Filler injection; or in case of a skin-nourishing procedure with laser or RF, it should be done at least 1 month afterwards.

9.Refrain from taking antiplatelet drugs, anti-clotting drugs, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, vitamins or supplementary that cause to bleed easily and hard to stop, such as aspirin, high-dose vitamin E, fish oil, or ginkgo leaf extract.

10. After the Hyaluronic Acid Filler injection, a rubber-like chump may be felt under the injected skin; it will get softer and become the same as the skin within 5-7 days.

11. In case of emergency, you should immediately contact our doctor without waiting until the appointment date; for example, abnormal reddish swelling on the injected area, or the injected skin becoming pale or darker to black, not being the rash or bruise from the injecting needle.

12. Our Patient Care Coordinator will help you to set an appointment with our doctor for follow-up in 1-2 weeks after the Hyaluronic Acid Filler injection.

What does the procedure entail?

As the treatment uses needles, it's important to numb the areas that'll be injected with a topical numbing cream beforehand as it helps minimise pain.

Cheek filler is usually injected with a small needle in three separate marks on the highest part of the cheekbone in order to lift the face and give the appearance of naturally contoured cheekbones.

Jawline filler is placed along where the natural jawline is (or would be, as some don't have a strong jawline at all) typically with a cannula, and gets rid of the appearance of a round, undefined face.

Chin filler is injected with a cannula at Lumina Aesthetics Clinic, and can make a face seem fully symmetrical by giving a face that perfect, sharp, upside down triangle shape called "the golden triangle" ratio.

Between 3-4ml of the product is usually injected over different areas of the face, and although it can be quite discomfort when the filler is being injected, there is zero pain afterwards.

How long does the procedure take Contouring Filler Hyaluronic Acid?

It's possible to get the treatment done in your lunch break. It takes around 45 minutes per session.

However, it's not all just the injecting as that takes only a few minutes. Most of this time is preparation of local anaesthetic, before and after photos and treatment planning.

How long will the effects last?

Results last up to a year, Lumina’s doctor will review dermal filler every 6 months for a little tweaking.
